CARNAGE True and Alternate Endings
Two legal finishes, the Area 6 door, and what tickets pay.
CARNAGE has two account-facing finishes once a lobby collapses far enough: a true ending and an alternate ending. Neither is a Steam campaign chapter. Both are ways to stop the killing game and get paid. Tickets from a true ending pay more. That is why people hunt the keypad. Match win is still “three living players including you” on how to win. Endings are the cinematic and the shop payout on top.
If you only care about surviving the vote, you can ignore this page until you have one clean Trial. If you care about Ultimate Survivor, you cannot. The alternate path is how ??? becomes an unlock. Full Survivor steps sit on secret Ultimate. This page is the map and the ticket logic around those steps.
True ending
True ending is the “we actually survived Xebeth” route. Community notes tie it to reaching a late Area with a small living roster and finishing without taking the secret door. You earn more tickets than the alternate path. Spend them on the shop after you leave. Affluent Progeny doubles the pile.
You do not need Ultimate ??? for true ending. You need to still be alive when the host decides the game is over. Quiet Spotless play — vote right, eat safe food, do not touch a Gun — is the usual way in. Getting started is that discipline. A highlight reel of four kills is how you never see this screen.
When only two people remain, Xebeth can skip Trial entirely. That skip is not an ending by itself. It is a deathmatch waiting to happen. Do not confuse “trial skipped” with “I won.”
Alternate ending and Area 6
Area 4 grew a keypad in front of Area 6 in a visual-improvement patch. That keypad is the alternate-ending door, not a daily-life shortcut. You need the correct code from exploring, not from this wiki inventing digits. Wrong guesses waste the chapter. Right guess opens a room with a turret. Past the turret are computers. Answers go into those computers. Then Xebeth (or the host line players hear as Zith) throws you into a free-for-all. You must kill everyone in that FFA.
Patches had to fix “alternate ending could not kill more than one person” and “reporting bodies during alternate ending.” If your FFA weapon unequips, that was a known bug. Rejoin after the next update rather than assuming you are skill-issued.
Area 6 is also the deathmatch used while you are Ultimate ??? to unlock Survivor. Think of it as the same geography wearing two hats: ending tickets versus account talent. You can finish a match without ever opening the door. You cannot unlock Survivor without winning that last-standing fight as ???.
What you should do in the last Areas
Area 4 is the kitchen, garden, vault, chapel, game room, art room, pincode room, pool. Xebeth hangs out in the art room here. Cameras live in Area 4 now, not Area 3. If you are hunting the keypad, you are hunting a code in this wing, not a YouTube comment. Map and areas is the room list. Map and tasks is why you still do a task so you have an alibi while you stand at a pad.
Area 5 is vents and dorms. Nighttime loggers matter if someone dies while you are keypad-brained. Do not ignore a body because you are “going for ending.” A reported corpse still opens investigation and can execute you before you ever see Area 6.
Tickets, shop, and why people throw
Players throw late chapters to force the door. That only works if the lobby agrees. A single Spotless who wants true-ending tickets will report you in the turret hallway. Talk before you type numbers. If the lobby wants true ending, leave the pad. If the lobby wants Survivor unlocks, you still need ??? on the wheel — a booster on the shop does not count until the unlock is real.
Codes do not skip endings. BRUHHHHDELAY is tickets without the cinema. Use both. Greedy accounts redeem, then still play for true ending because the shop has more than one sink.
